About the Alliance
The first-of-its-kind global platform activating cultural heritage as a dynamic economic force through the private sector.
Mission
To position cultural heritage at the heart of global development.
We empower entrepreneurs and creative changemakers to demonstrate how cultural heritage inspires innovation, economic resilience, and social cohesion across G20 nations — advancing the commitments first recognised in the 2023 G20 Leaders' Declaration.
Vision
A world where heritage drives sustainable development.
We envision a global network of entrepreneurs who see local traditions and identities not as relics, but as living sources of solutions to modern challenges — connecting nations through shared respect for the past and bold ideas for the future.
The Rationale
While the 2023 G20 Leaders' Declaration recognised cultural heritage as a “transformative driver” of the SDGs, a critical implementation gap remains.
Current international efforts are largely centred on policy advocacy or monumental preservation. Few dedicated platforms support the entrepreneurs who build sustainable livelihoods from their own heritage.
The G20 CHEA stands behind those people: the entrepreneurs, investors, and local experts who create jobs and viable enterprises rooted in cultural heritage.

Our History
G20 leaders officially recognise cultural heritage as a "transformative driver" of the Sustainable Development Goals in the New Delhi Declaration — the first formal acknowledgement at this level of its role in global development.
At the G20 Young Entrepreneurs' Alliance (YEA) Summit in South Africa, members from G20 countries working in the cultural heritage space see an opportunity. Among the diverse entrepreneurs at YEA, those with a passion for cultural heritage decide to form a dedicated alliance — the G20 CHEA is born.
The Alliance is established in Canada, with its registered office in Ontario. Building the infrastructure for a truly global cultural heritage entrepreneurs' network across G20 member states.
The Secretariat
The Global Secretariat coordinates the Alliance's operations, partnerships, and annual programme from its base in Canada.

Structure
A permanent administrative and strategic coordination body based in Canada, overseeing the Alliance's operations and global partnerships.
Each G20 country designates independent entrepreneurs or organisations to lead national engagement and coordinate their delegation.
A flagship gathering held alongside the G20 presidency where the Communiqué is presented and partnerships are formed.
Membership open to all cultural heritage entrepreneurs, practitioners, artisans, and creative changemakers committed to the Alliance's mission — ensuring a truly inclusive global network.
We are actively building our network of Envoys, delegates, investors, and institutional partners.
